The official Twitter feed for the X-Men films has just posted a special Trask Industries blueprint that shows off the internal make-up of the Sentinel from the upcoming X-Men: Days of Future Past . Trask Industries, the fictional company responsible for designing the massive mutant-hunting robots, also has a ‘viral’ website, Trask-Industries.com. Their official blurb reads as:

In 1973, Trask Industries introduced the first Sentinel production model, the Mark I. Bolivar Trask’s groundbreaking research in AI, robotics and autonomous ballistic systems laid the foundation for the world’s most capable anti-mutant defense system. Since the program’s inception, we’ve continued to advance our founder’s cause through eight additional generational upgrades and enhancements.

As we celebrate five decades of achievement, we also bid farewell to regular production of the Mark I and shift our efforts to full-time manufacturing of the Mark X – our first complete overhaul of the Sentinel line. These highly anticipated units will combine next-generation nanotechnology and bioweapon breakthroughs, promising an even brighter future for the human race.”

This teaser text drops in some interesting timeline data: the 1973 date references the “past” portion of Days of Future Past (the McAvoy Fassbender generation) eluding to the arrival of the Sentinels being a response to their existence. The site also details the announcement of the Sentinel Mark X Program in 2020, this eluding to the time-frame of the “future” portion of Days of Future Past, some time after the end of The Wolverine. Another tit-bit is that the Mark X Sentinels will have an “inhibitor collar” and a “mutant detection device.

Peter Dinklage (Game of Thrones) play Bolivar Trask, the founder of Trask Industries who creates the robotic Sentinels to hunt down and destroy mutants.
