TV REVIEW: Castle Season 5, Episode 12 – “Death Gone Crazy”

castle_season_5_188u0ue-188u0ujThis week’s episode of Castle sees the owner of ‘College Girls Gone Crazy,’ a successful ‘lady-centric’ adult business enterprise, strangled in the bathroom with the most unusual of murder weapons.

Due to the nature of his business, the victim had plenty of enemies, with husbands, boyfriends and brothers all wanting payback – but was he really such a bad guy?

Esposito is soon smitten with the victim’s bad-ass bodyguard (played by Lady Deathstrike herself, Kelly Hu) and there is some great interaction between them through the episode.

As always, we have Castle’s home life with Martha and Alexis running parallel to the murder investigation.  This week, Castle is upset that Alexis has a video blog online.  Worried that she will be open to predators and creepy internet stalkers, he confronts her about it.  She shuts him down immediately, saying that things are different nowadays and everyone lives their life online.  This is probably an argument which has been heard in households with teenagers the world over, but something about this whole exchange makes me think it’s a signpost for something.  Is Alexis going to get a stalker?

The episode, at its core, is about fathers wanting to protect their daughters.  A lovely sentiment but also shows how far people go to protect and provide for their children.
