Update: Ant-Man Rumour Debunked

Posted by geeksyndicate on July 20, 2010

Well this rumour didn’t last long! according to “The Playlist” blog Adrien Brody will not be playing Ant-Man.

from the playlist:

we checked with sources very close to the project this morning and it’s evidently untrue. Maybe the rumors that Nathon Fillion playing “Ant-Man” (also untrue) will finally die now? Trading a rumor for a new rumor perhaps?

so take from that what you will! obviously “sources” close to the project probably would say it is untrue until they we’re ready to announce it themselves!  so as always this is ALL rumour until Marvel say different or they announce their ant-man!

Ant-Man Cast?

Posted by geeksyndicate on July 20, 2010

This is right out of left field but 2 good news sources are claiming that Adrien Brody is Marvels favorite to play Ant-Man.

A Latino Review reporter says:

I personally checked w/my pals at Paradigm (Adrien Brody’s agency) and at press time, YES they were pursuing Ant-Man but got nothing yet.

and AMC stated:

Take this for what its worth, but I was just told Adrien Brody is most likely going to be ‘Ant Man’ for Edgar Wright.

I am a huge fan of Adrian Brody! he is a excellent actor and he definitely has the acting chops to pull of Hank Pym or Scott lang!  i hope this one is true!

Another day, Another Hulk?

Posted by geeksyndicate on July 15, 2010

Mark Ruffalo is Hulk in “The Avengers”? According to sources at Deadline, it could be true! personally i think he’d make a better Barry Allen.

so so far the list of portabilities are:

  • Joaquin Phoenix (Gladiator)
  • Mark Ruffalo (Shutter Island, Zodiac)
  • Adrien Brody (Predators)
  • Nathan Fillion (Waitress, Serenity)
  • David Tennant (“Doctor Who”)

It’s a pretty cool list so hopefully that means marvel are not going to cheep out and will actually pick a decent actor!

Predators gets two international posters!

Posted by geeksyndicate on May 20, 2010

The more I see and hear of this film the more I’m looking forward to it.

We now have two international posters to gawk at in the run up to the film’s release. The first is a standard, group shot style, poster which we’ve seen loads of times and didn’t really do much for me but the second one looks great.

I’m still having a tough time buying Adrien Brody as a touch as nails mercenary but this second poster definitely helped. Either way this film is shaping up very well.

Predators – New Character Featurette video: ROYCE (Adrien Brody)

Posted by geeksyndicate on April 8, 2010

When I first heard about the film I wasn’t so sure and I definately wasn’t sure about Adrien Brody as some kind of tough badass. So far, I’m happy to report that I’m being proven wrong on both counts.

Still though the lack of Carl Weathers saddens me. Yes I know he got his arm sliced off and gutted like a fish in the first film but hey not even a Predator can take out Action Jackson!

The film is due in UK cinemas Friday 13th August 2010.

Check out the streaming link to watch the Featurette.

Sneak Peek at Predators

Posted by geeksyndicate on March 15, 2010

PREDATORS, a bold new chapter in the Predator universe, shot under the creative auspices of Robert Rodriguez, stars Adrien Brody as Royce, a mercenary who reluctantly leads a group of elite warriors who come to realise they’ve been brought together on an alien planet… as prey. With the notable exception of a disgraced physician, they are all cold-blooded killers – mercenaries, Yakuza, convicts, death squad members – human “predators” that are now being systemically hunted and eliminated by a new breed of alien predators.

SNEAK PEEK AT PREDATORS

Now I’m a big fan of Predators 1 and 2 but kinda jumped ship on the whole predator vs Alien series. I like the premise of this new film and I think Rodriguez is definately a good choice as director as the guy knows who to shoot a good action scene. So far the film is shaping up well and is looking like a worthy entry into the franchise.

The film hits our screens 11th August.

First look at Splice

Posted by geeksyndicate on October 16, 2009

Clive and Elsa are young, brilliant and ambitious. The new animal species they engineered have made them rebel superstars of the scientific world. In secret, they introduce human DNA into the experiment. The result is something that is greater than the sum of its parts: a female animal-human hybrid that may be a step up on the evolutionary ladder

After watching the cast and crew (including sci-fi director Vincenzo Natali and the legendary Guillermo del Toro) talk about the film and watching the clip I like the idea of this film. It has a kind of modern day Frankenstein vibe to it and looks to be asking a lot of moral questions about how far is too far when it comes to pushing the boundaries of science.

Looking forward to seeing a little more about the film.

The film stars Adrien Brody of ‘The Pianist’ fame, as well as ‘Dawn of the Dead’s Sarah Polley and hits the big screen in 2010.
