It is an exciting time to be into comics. A couple of years ago we got DC‘s New 52. It was bold and brave (no pun intended) and has been a huge success. In the last couple of months, Marvel have asked you to join their revolution with Marvel NOW! Like The New 52 it seems to be shaking things up. Image have never been in such a strong place, creating some of the best comics out there with the best talent in the business.
Now Titan seem to be getting involved by pushing their own line of creator owned comics.

Warner Home Video is having a pretty good year this year, it seems. In addition to Batman: The Dark Knight Returns, Part 2, there will be a Flashpoint movie coming out later this year. Before that though, there is a new Superman movie, Superman: Unbound, which is an adaptation of Geoff John’s “Brainiac” storyline from 2008. Read the rest of this entry »

Spandex by Martin Eden is a comic book that not many could pull off. He manages to blend controversy perfectly with story. It feels natural and this is why it works. Also Eden has an uncanny ability that not many creators have: each issue is truly better than the last one.

DC Comics has this week announced that Scott Snyder’s “Batman” and Tony Daniel’s “Detective Comics” are going to increase in price by $1 each. Rising from $2.99 (£1.94) to $3.99 (£2.59). This brings them in line with “Justice League”, “Action Comics”, “Men of War” and “All-Star Western”.

DC returned the majority of its comics to $2.99 in January last year following the unpopular price increase to $3.99 most of their titles. The company did this stating they would be holding the line at $2.99. Read the rest of this entry »
