Daredevil sequel on the way

Posted by montoc1701 on March 16, 2011

Greetings all Montoya here.

I liked the Daredevil movie, I know it was not perfect but it worked. The news here that FOX are moving ahead with a sequel does not get me too excited, not because it is Daredevil but because it is FOX still. I am still hooked on the idea of Marvel getting their characters back like they have with Hulk first and now Punisher.

Oh well let’s see what happens and let us know who you think could be cast because you just know that Affleck will not return but I think Michael Clark Duncan might as Kingpin.

This teaser was released on Friday, and it is different from the others. The others all had Good and Bad guys fighting for the hammer! but this one shows 3 good guys, The Hulk, Ben Grimm and Colossus.

We still have pretty much no idea what Marvel are doing with Fear Itself. personally i’m excited! though and i can’t wait to get back in to full event mode!

Unused Animatronics from Hulk

Posted by geeksyndicate on January 8, 2011

Steve Johnson (Special Effects Artist) has been showing off concept props from Tim Burton’s “Superman Lives” for the last few months. Well he also worked on Ang Lee’s Hulk movie in 2003!

Apparently Ang Lee wanted the Hulk to be pretty much fully animatronic and not the CGI Mess that we got.

Johnson has now posted video of his effects team building the robotic Hulk, showing both the exterior and the interior of the character. There are hours of this footage that will likely be released in the future.

To be honest I don’t think using this creature instead of the CGI one we got would have made much of a difference!

Do You Fear… Losing Control?

Posted by geeksyndicate on December 16, 2010

Here is the 4th teaser from Marvel. This looks like Bruce Banners worst nightmare! what if he really lost control? maybe the “Worst Nightmare” theme is important?

We’ve had one everyday this week, so my guess would be tomorrow we will get another one and ithink it’ll be the reveal of just what they are teasing.

Let us know what your theories are.

NYCC 2010: Marvel’s Next Big Thing Panel Report

Posted by geeksyndicate on October 10, 2010

Marvels Last panel of the weekend has jsut finished and we got some HUGE news about the 616 and Ultimate Universes,

In Attendance:

Fred Van Lente, Jason Aaron, Jeph Loeb, Brian M. Bendis, Dan Slott, Dan Abnett, Andy Lanning, Greg Pak, Mark Paniccia and Arune Singh

616 Announcements

  • Chaos War Sold out at distribution level
  • Fred Van Lente notes that if the Chaos King wins, that could be the end for comics. Period. Can the heroes stop the world from being reverted to the chaos that existed before creation?
  • The end of Thanos Imperative is…NOT the end of Dan Abnett and Andy Lanning in the Marvel Cosmic Universe!
  • New cosmic event called “Devastation” is the aftermath of Thanos Imperative and sets up the new status quo!
  • Dan Abnett and Andy Lanning will be writing Heroes for Hire. This is not your traditional team up book, it has a rotating cast, and some don’t even know their team members, they are being manipulated! You cannot predict the last page of Heroes for Hire #1
  • Dan Abnett and Andy Lanning want to bring you a bunch of characters that you would never ever expect to see! Also, it’s as far from the cosmic universe as you can get, so you’ll see Dan Abnett and Andy Lanning doing something new!
  • Next year there will be NO Fantastic Four title on the shelves (after the events of 3), so be ready for that. Just in time for the 50th anniversary!
  • Awesome Paolo Rivera anniversary covers celebrating the various iterations of the FF all next year
  • Dan Slott says New job for Peter which will be a career, and now he will expand his arsenal. He’s a genius, right? He’s gotta ave cool stuff! New costumes on the way! One of the suits avialable in MvC3!
  • Hobgoblin will be coming back, Mac Gargan is back to Scorpion , Who will be Venom?
  • Spider-man book will be moving to 30 pages, sometimes the book will be one story 30 pages, and sometime it will be 22 pages with an 8 page backup — that tie directly to the main story
  • The first backup is going to feature Paul Tobin’s Spider-Girl, to launch his new title, which is also part of Big Time ft. Arana as Spider-Girl.
  • Osborne miniseries is also under the Big Time banner

Ultimate Announcements

  • Ultimate Thor 1, which was day and date digital as well as print, will continue to be day and date!
  • Hulk will join Ultimate X in issue 5
  • Aftermath from Ultimatum will be shown in Ultimate X, it’s not to be missed!
  • New Ultimates by Loeb is about the characters who aren’t currently Avengers in the Ultimate universe. The arc will be called Thor: Reborn.
  • Sara Pichelli is joining the Ultimate Spider-Man book doing alternate arcs with David Lafuente
  • The 150th issue is coming, and Ultimate Spider-Man will go back to it’s original numbering!
  • Jason Aaron will be writing Ultimate Captain America! With Ron Garney on art NEW SERIES!
  • Aaron says that Cap’s life is “going to suck pretty hard”
  • While Cap was in ice, they made a new Cap, rather than being forged in WW2, he was forged in Vietnam, a very different experience. That Cap disappeared and he feels like Cap got off easy by not being in Vietnam, so he’s going to teach Steve what he needs to know!
  • That second Cap will be a character we know from the Marvel Universe, but who is new to the Ultimate Universe (Matt’s note: My Money is on Nuke or maybe John Walker)

Nothing much new in the 616 that we haven’t already heard but Ultimate Captain America sounds interesting! and the renumbering of Ultimate Spider-Man seems silly since they only just reset the numbers not long back.

Hulk goes on rampage in Worcester

Posted by geeksyndicate on September 22, 2010

The Incredible Hulk spotted in Worcester, where he smashed the sun roof of a Ford Festia (as Rampages go it was kinda tame). Also  Spotted was Superman and one of the Thunderbirds!

Police are now trying to trace the offender, but believe a number of students may have been out dressed as the Marvel Comic character on Sunday evening.

The Hulk isn’t the only one raging today though.  The owners of the Fiesta are furious.  For starters, they haven’t caught the kid, and now the owner has to cough up some cash just so she can get to work and back.

Bev Churchill, aged 52, said she saw a man dressed as Superman and a Thunderbird earlier in the evening. Mrs Churchill said her daughter had been using the car to get to her new job at the Tudor Grange academy in Bilford Road. She said: “You can understand if they go out, have a drink and pick up a traffic cone on their way home, but this is criminal damage and is totally unacceptable. I’m furious. My daughter now has to save up her wages to buy a new car because of some mindless idiot.”

Erm…. Having your car smashed up is a pretty shitty thing but it’s only a sun roof! so why does she has to save up to buy a whole new car! a trip to a few scrap yards and a few quid thrown at a mechanic will sort it out!
