Cinebook (for the uninitiated) are the Canterbury based ‘champions of the 9th art.’ They’ve been translating and publishing some of the best French and Belgian comics for the English-speaking world for a fair few years now.
I’ve been hooked on several of their series since the Geek Syndicate boys brought them to my attention – so much so that I’ve set up this column to share my discoveries with all you lovely people.
This week we heard that the first and quite frankly best Indiana Jones movie is coming to IMAX in September. To mark this Drew Struzan who has created some of the best movie posters ever, has released a brand new one for Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark.
This shortlisted entry for the Done In 60 Seconds competition which is being organised as part of the Empire Awards 2012 is possibly one of the coolest Indiana Jones related things I’ve seen in many an age!
2011 has been a amazing year for all things geek ranging from books, movies and tv shows to conventions, games, comics and gadgets. But what was the best part of the year?
We asked the Geek Syndicate team what they thought and one thing that everyone agreed on is that 2011 was a great geek year and that 2012 can only get better.
I don’t know what I’m more excited about the fact I know now Raiders is on it’s way to Blu-Ray or that I can enjoy it knowing it’s not been mucked about with in anyway.
As every Indiana Jones fans like myself knows this year marked the 30th anniversary of Raider of the Lost Ark. Anyone who knows me well will know of my own love of the film and how in many ways if not for the man with the hat there I would not be the person/geek I am today.
At the Empire Big Screen convention held at the O2 last weekend myself and GS team member Liz were able to indulge our Indiana Jones fandom by getting the chance to interview Robert Watts, who produced the first three Indiana Jones films. Robert was at the Big Screen taking part in a panel where he recalled some of his fond memories of his work on the Indiana Jones films.
