Posted by faintdreams on July 24, 2012

ImageJackie Earle Haley (better known to movie fans as Rorschach from the movie Watchmen), has been announced to be joining the cast of the new Robocop movie reboot. Haley will be joining Gary Oldman, Samuel Jackson, and Hugh Laurie in what is shaping up to be a pretty formidable roster of stars. Hayley is set to play Maddox, a character set to be instrumental in the military training of Robocop.

Not sure how much of the original plot and setting will remain but the story goes that… Read the rest of this entry »

Geek Syndicate – Human Target Special: Interview with Mark Valley

Posted by geeksyndicate on December 15, 2010

Mark Valley at the William S. Paley Television...

Earlier in the year Dave and I caught up with Mark Valley the star of the hit US show Human Target.

Thanks to my computer dying I thought I had lost the interview (we lost dave halfway through the recording as you will hear) but after a whole lot of tinkering and some luck I’ve manged to recover the interview for your listening pleasure.

Be warned this was recorded before season 2 aired so there’s not a lot of questions on season 2 although we do get to chat briefly about what Mark believes we can expect from Chance in season two.

Enjoy

Nightmare on Elm Street is nearly here – Trailer and new images

Posted by geeksyndicate on April 27, 2010

Freddy Krueger (Jackie Earle Haley) returns in “A Nightmare on Elm Street”, a contemporary re-imagining of the horror classic. A group of suburban teenagers share one common bond: they are all being stalked by Freddy Krueger, a horribly disfigured killer who hunts them in their dreams. As long as they stay awake, they can protect one another…but when they sleep, there is no escape.

Yes the new rebooted Nightmare on Elm Street is released next…too bad I won’t be going to see it. I guess the biggest praise I can give to a preview of a horror flick is whether or not I can overcome my innate wussiness(yes that is a real word) to go and see the film. What I’ve seen from the trailer and clips so far this new reboot seems to be doing a pretty good job of bring us back to the pant wetting scares of the first film.

Personally I like the idea of going to sleep and not having to worry about some stripy jumper, clawed handed nutter slicing me up for kicks. If that’s you think the feel free to check out the trailer and images below.

One thing I will say about Freddie is that he’s one of the more better dressed slasher guys I mean come on the man is rocking that fedora.

Posted by geeksyndicate on February 19, 2010

As those of you who listen to podcast will we review the premier of V hosted by the Sci-fi Channel which we really enjoyed. The good news is the long wait for us to get a look at the rest of the series is finally over. Sci Fi have announced that the series along with Human Target, an action series based on the comic of the same name will be hitting out screens in April.

Both shows will air with a double episode before settling into their weekly single episode time slots.

V will air Tuesdays at 10pm from April 13 and Human Target (which so far been pulling in 10 million viewers over in the states) will air Wednesdays at 10pm from April 14.

Now I could bore you with a lot of text telling you about both shows or I could just say ‘Screw that check out the trailers instead’

Sinestro has an identity crisis [Green Lantern movie]

Posted by VichusSmith on January 16, 2010

Do you want to see Jackie Earle Haley playing Sinestro in the Green Lantern live action film? Yeah, that’s not happening. Jakie Earle Haley, who seems to be everyone’s choice to be in every geek-related film these days, was rumored all about the internet to be he Man in Yellow.

You are going to ask who Mark Stong is, I can feel it! Mark Strong, other than being balding in a pattern appropriate to play Sinestro, will be on your big screen in Kick-Ass and John Carter of Mars. He was in Sunshine as Pinbacker and I will forgive him for being in Babylon A.D. He’s gotta make a living.

Oh, sorry, I’m not done. He’s recently played Lord Blackwood in the Robert Downey/Jude Law version of Sherlock Holmes and he will be in Robin Hood this year. Mark Strong has been staring you in the face for more than a decade, and he’s only getting bigger.

So, it might be a bit disappointing that Mark  Strong is your Sinestro over Haley, but maybe we can see them together in some sort of buddy comedy in the future! :)
