Taken 2 Being Re-edited for UK 12A Rating

In a surprise move by the distributor, Taken 2 is being re-edited to get 12A rating in the UK. Personally I’m not sure about this. Neeson was hard-boiled in the original film about an ex-agent who turned Europe upside down trying to find his kidnapped daughter.The cinema cut of Taken was a crisp 15 certificate, but the DVD was a brutal bare-knuckled 18 cert that set the bench-mark on how all good Dads should protect their daughters.

The new international trailer has landed for the Peter Berg film Battleship and it shows some new scenes. I have been pleased with the look of this film as it looks like it is going to deliver on what it is aiming to do which is a big summer popcorn blockbuster that is full of explosions and special effects.

A fleet of ships is forced to do battle with an armada of unknown origins in order to discover and thwart their destructive goals.Game Property Battleship has it’s movie and it’s sooner than I thought. Battleship hits movie theatres this April and stars Taylor Kitsch (X-Men Origins: Wolverine’s Gambit), Rihanna (International Pop Star), Alexander Skarsgard (Eric Northman in True Blood), Liam Neeson (Taken, The A-Team) and Brooklyn Decker (Lexie from Ugly Betty).
When I first heard that Hasbro had licensed their game property “Battleships” as a movie, I was skeptical as heck. Sure – a maritime war film would be ace, but based on a game where each side guesses the enemy’s location? hmmm … I then saw the trailer and had to eat humble pie. This film looks awesome – to the maritime war film, add an alien vessel and it’s accompaniments. This looks epic. Check out the stills after this short break …

I have only read some of Mark Millar’s Nemesis but what I saw was brilliant and I could totally see this as a movie. It seems that the studio think so as well but there is no hard evidence on this rumour yet but it would be cool.
