Sony Releases Synopsis of Next M. Night Shyamalan Film ‘After Earth’

M. Night Shyamalan’s tenth film as writer and director is due for release in June 2013, but with the geekfest that is San Diego Comic Con due to start next week, Sony are trying to generate some buzz around the project with an early release of the film synopsis.
Yesterday, aintitcool.com revealed that the film will star Will Smith alongside his real son Jaden Smith who will portray his fictional son. ’After Earth’ is set one thousand years into the future. Send M. Night Shyamalan Back to Film School

Not a fan of M. Night Shyamalan’s The Last Airbender? Well, a lot of people agree with that sentiment – so much so that Chris Baker (along with others) has created a project to crowdsource funds in an effort to send the Sixth Sense filmmaker back to film school.
From the homepage:”If we all donate just one dollar, we can send M. Night back to NYU so he gets the help we all so desperately need. Let’s make it happen so we can get him enrolled before he starts principal photography on 1000 A.E.”
And what if the auteur doesn’t accept the check? The money will go to a good cause – a scholarship in Shyamalan’s name to “send the NEXT Tarantino to NYU.”

Trailer for this film produced by look better than I thought actually. In the final version I’m hoping there will be cameo role for Chuck Norris as an Ex-Navy Seal, turned Exorcist and Part -time life repairman called Jack Hammer.

Synopsis:
Air, Water, Earth, Fire. Four nations tied by destiny when the Fire Nation launches a brutal war against the others. A century has passed with no hope in sight to change the path of this destruction. Caught between combat and courage, Aang (Noah Ringer) discovers he is the lone Avatar with the power to manipulate all four elements. Aang teams with Katara (Nicola Peltz), a Waterbender, and her brother, Sokka (Jackson Rathbone), to restore balance to their war-torn world.
Really starting to like the look of this one. Fingers crossed it’s not style over substance. My only dilemma now do I finish watching the cartoon series before I watched the film?

Well after the teaser trailer that was released last year we now have some posters to look at for M. Night Shyamalan’s ‘The Last Airbender’ .
The cartoon on which the movie is based is still on my list of things to watch. I did watch half of the first series and was enjoying it but for some reason I never went back to it.
