Schwarzenegger Will Be Back in T5

Posted by montoc1701 on April 27, 2011

So some big news going around the web is that Schwarzenegger has finally agreed a deal to return to acting and the first on his list is to join the proposed fifth Terminator movie.

The film is currently being lined up by the director of the last 3 Fast and Furious films, Justin Lin. I did not mind the last movie Terminator Salvation and was looking forward to seeing where that story takes us. I have heard that the new movie could go into a separate direction which would be a shame.

I am a fan of Arnold but there is no way anyone would belive him to still be a T800 model terminator. Maybe he would play the human that the model was based on.

So what do you guys think?

Universal and Justin Lin to Reboot ‘Terminator’ Franchise

Posted by geeksyndicate on February 16, 2011

Yes you read that right! The guy who directed the last three Fast and Furious movies may be getting the chance to reboot the franchise that made Arnold Scwarzenegger into a house hold name and which proved that a sequel could be better than the original! Universal, who apparently have the rights to the franchise after they won a game of musical chairs, is planning to bring back the franchise with Justin Lin directing and Chris Morgan (WANTED, the upcoming 47 RONIN) writing the script.

After last week’s Tweet from the recently former Governor of California  saying that the big guy might be ready to come back to action it’s possible he might be up for a role in the franchise that made his career what it is today.

Of course nothing is official but it’s nice to see some movement on this as it would be an awful waste to see this franchise die. Personally I do not want a sequel to the current four movies. After the 3rd and 4th films the story has gotten to messy. I’d love to see them start fresh and possibly set the movie during the initial take over by the machines. You could reference John Conner and his past encounters with the machines or you could just ignore that history and have John rise up to be a general without the need for time travelling Arnolds!

Animated Terminator movie on the way

Posted by geeksyndicate on August 13, 2010

I have heard differant things in the last 6 hours about this story. One version is that Hannover House has announced that it has teamed with Red Bear Entertainment to develop a 3D animated feature called “Terminator 3000,” an $70 million movie based on the original “Terminator” film.

The second is that they are developing a Animated Series and not a stand alone movie!.

On one hand, We are getting some new Terminator! on the other hand the company has been quoted as saying that they want to minimize the violence in order to obtain a PG-13 movie. That just doesn’t sound right to me! i don’t want a namby pamby version of terminator where no one dies and there is no blood.

If it has to be animated I would of taken the Animatrix route and go as violent as a terminator story needs to go. Personally I would prefer they just reboot the franchise in live action form!

“CATCHING UP” #3 – Terminator

Posted by geeksyndicate on October 16, 2009

“CATCHING UP” #3

THE MOVIE:
Terminator (1984)

DIRECTED BY:
James Cameron

WHY I SHOULD HAVE SEEN IT:
After playing Conan for two movies (two more to add to the list, shamefully), muscleman Arnold Schwarzenegger played what is arguably his most iconic role: a badass robot from the future. [Make your own joke about him getting elected governor of California here; I used my one in the Twitter Report.]
Featuring memorable lines like “I’ll be back,” and “Come with me if you want to live!”, which have worked themselves into the Pop Culture Phrasebook, this is one I’m really kicking myself for not having seen earlier. I mean, I’ve seen T2 in German, but I’ve only seen bits and pieces of this first film in the Terminator franchise on TV when G4 started airing it.
There’s a bin in my parents’ garage full of Terminator action figures from when I was a kid; I was also addicted to special effects tell-all TV shows as a kid, and they frequently showed techniques used in the first two Terminator movies. I guess it’s time I stopped being a goddamn poser.

“Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles” – Your thoughts?

Posted by VichusSmith on May 3, 2009

It’s been  a great 2 seasons but, sadly, there may be no more Terminator : The Sarah Connor Chronicles. That’s right, no more “Donald Where’s your Trousers?” no more Cromartie, no more future uncles, no more liquid metal, no more awkward sexual tension between John and Cameron and no more Sarah being a badass mom.

I’ll miss The Sarah Connor Chronicles. Will you?

Brand New Terminator Salvation Motion Poster!

Posted by geeksyndicate on November 26, 2008

Check this out  cool motion poster we just be sent over for the upcoming Terminator Salvation.

Set in post-apocalyptic 2018, Christian Bale stars as John Connor, the man fated to lead the human resistance against Skynet and its army of Terminators. But, the future Connor was raised to believe in, is altered in part by the appearance of Marcus Wright, a stranger whose last memory is of being on death row. Connor must decide whether Marcus has been sent from the future, or rescued from the past.

As Skynet prepares its final onslaught, Connor and Marcus both embark on an odyssey that takes them into the heart of Skynet’s operations, where they uncover the terrible secret behind the possible annihilation of mankind.

I loved Terminator’s 1 and 2 and I thought Terminator 3 was ok with some nice ideas in there. My main problem with 3 was I just couldn’t see the guy in that movie becoming the bad ass leader we all know John Connor becomes. Now Christian Bale as Conner in Terminator Salvation that’s an idea I can get behind.

Will ‘Sarah Connor’ be terminated?

Posted by VichusSmith on October 6, 2008

Not even an army of terminators couls keep this show from being canceled.

Not even an army of terminators could keep this show from being canceled.

If you’re a fan of Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, you’re going to want to sit down. You seated. *SIGH* It looks like this show is about to be scrapped. I’m crossing my fingers in hopes that this show lasts the season, but rumors of this show dying means that this is going to be the last we see of this show, whether it’s 20 episodes from now, or 3.
