Here’s one for all you trekkies out there that  can beam themselves down to Manchester in September. A free art exhibition celebrating all things Star Trek is being hosted by the Generation Pop art gallery .

‘Legacy’ – 45th anniversary Star Trek art exhibition

Celebrating 45 years of Star Trek, award winning art gallery Generation Pop, will be hosting an exhibition of the official Star Trek fine art collection.
Fans from all over the country will be attending the invitation-only launch event on the 8th of September in costume! with a number of Star Trek artists also in attendance. The exhibition will be open to the public from the 9th of September.
The opening night event is on Thursday the 8th of September (the actual anniversary of the show) and tickets are free, however you will need to call the gallery or email us at [email protected] to be added to the guest list. If you own a Star Trek uniform then why not wear it on the opening night, the press will be there and I am sure they would love to take your picture.

The launch event is 45 years to the day that the first episode featuring Kirk, Spock and the rest of the crew hit the TV screens back in 1966.
Artwork being flown over Los Angeles and New York will include illustrative pieces from Ryan Church, Ryan created the concept artwork for the latest Star Trek film as well as Geoffrey Mandel who has worked on a number of Star Trek films and TV series, Geoffrey has created a map of the Star Trek Universe, limited to just 45 worldwide especially for the anniversary.
When news of the creation of the fine art collection was announced earlier this year, the story received over 700,000 hits on the Star Trek Facebook page in the first 24 hours alone.
