The Big Bang Theory: The Hot Troll Deviation Review

THE BIG BANG THEORY “The Hot Troll Deviation” Have I said how much I love this show? This week was a great episode with guest stars in the form of the gorgeous Katee Sackhoff and George Takei.

Sheldon and Raj argue over a bunch of stuff. This is fine for Sheldon, at first, because he can call in Penny and Raj has no choice but to shut up. But in the university, Raj has the upper hand. He gets abrobdingnagian desk, a parakeet and scented candles. Of course, Sheldon retaliates with Indian music and a mixture of ‘hydrogen sulphide and ammonia gas’, of course, the flammable gas and candle flame interact and well it doesn’t take a genius to work out what happened next.

After seeing Bernadette at the cheesecake factory Howard wants to reunite with her but he is reluctant to explain to anyone why they broke up.

Howard eventually admits that he had a cyber-affair with a troll in World of Warcraft. Thankfully, Bernadette forgives him, but not before Howard gets a little advice some good, some bad  from his imaginary friends, Katee Sackhoff and George Takei.

Those two were awesome in their scenes together, especially toward the end of the episode, where George gives Howard advice on what women want and Katee snarkily asks “how would you know?” with George responding that he had read it in books.

This episode was almost perfect for me. We had great stuff from Raj, Sheldon, Howard and Penny, but sadly Leonard didn’t have much to do here. It’s forgivable, given the great guest stars and the Sheldon-Raj plotline. I love when those two argue. It’s like the clash of superior intellect and supreme idiocy – and that’s just inside Sheldon’s head.

It was great to see Bernadette back. She’s such a fun character when used sparingly, but I can see her becoming a little grating if used too often the same with Amy Farrah Fowler. That said, I hope we see them both a few more times this season.

I love this series so much it always leaves me with a massive smile on this face.

Overall I will give it a 4.5 out of 5
