George Lucas sues company making ‘Jedi Mind’ headset

It seems the force is not with Jedi Mind inc and their fancy wireless headset which lets the user control software and play games with their mind. George Lucas is far from happy about the situation and  has filed a five million dollar law suit against the company for misuse of the phrase to endorse their product.

LucasFilm sent a cease-and-desist letter to Jedi Mind in May 2009. A week later, Jedi Mind’s chief, Brent Fouch, offered to phase his company out of Jedi Mind marks. LucasFilm accepted the offer, but now claims the company did no such thing.

LucasFilm sent a second cease-and-desist letter last September and says it attempted to settle the situation without a lawsuit. JediMind is selling three products — “Master Mind,” “Jedi Mouse” and “Think Tac Toe.”

The studio says the alleged trademark infringement will cause confusion in the marketplace and harm its business and reputation. LucasFilm is seeking injunctive relief and recovery of damages estimated at no less than $5 million. – Blastr

I really hope Jedi Mind inc  have been saving up their pennies as it looks like old Georgie boy is coming after them all guns blazing.

Something tells me when the dust has settled the only place we’re be able to pick up a Jedi Mind headset is from Ebay.

I don’t know what the company was thinking of when they came up with the name I mean did they seriously think Lucas was going to just leave it alone, especially as he’s probably annoyed that he didn’t come up with something like this first.
