MCM Comic Con London 2015 Round up: Day 1- Fia

Evening all!

Today was the opening day of MCM Comic Con London 2015, as I’m sure you’re all aware, and the October con started extremely well.

Friday has always been a great day to go to MCM and now they’ve made them full days you get the benefit of Saturday hours and shopping but with less of a crush in the halls.

MCM

Unfortunately I couldn’t actually see much of what was going on, due to my forgetting my contacts and not wanting to wear my glasses with my cosplay (Sarah from Labyrinth) but once I got close enough I could see the amazing quality of people’s cosplays and the exiting range of stalls in the main hall.

MCM

It was, as always, great fun to see the Star Wars Stormtroopers and with the release of the new Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer being released and cinemas selling out tickets for the film’s December release there was an in flux of new Star Wars cosplays. There were also a great range of really imaginative cosplays out today and I’m really looking forward to seeing more tomorrow, if you spotted some particularly awesome cosplays why not send them to the Geek Syndicate Facebook page or Twitter?

The theaters at MCM have always been a treasure trove of cool stuff to check out and, admittedly, past Fridays haven’t had as much or as exciting things going on but today con goers were treated to two exclusive first looks:

The Man in the High Castle was given an MCM exclusive screening of its second episode, the drama/Sci-Fi thriller is the Amazon Video’s new talked-about show and today’s screening was the first time anyone in the UK would have gotten to see this episode.

Mr. Robot is the hit US show is another delight from Amazon and they screened it at MCM London Comic Con just for us. Rami Malek, who is giving a panel tomorrow, plays a computer programmer and cyber-security engineer who turns hacker come vigilante at night.

One complaint I heard today was regarding a certain McLaren Honda ride, apparently they are asking £5 for a one minute ride experience. Now, having not swung by there myself to check it out I cannot properly confirm the cost or the length of the ride – instead why not do something fun for TOTALLY FREE ~WHOOPWHOOP~and who doesn’t like free stuff?

There is a catch, well two catches:

You have to head to the Forbidden Planet (BL7 and BL8) early on in the day, as this fun free thing is in limited supply.

You have to GO ON AN ADVENTURE!

Adventure Time

Yup, Forbidden Planet had a special Comic Con quest just for MCM London! Go collect your scroll and follow the instructions in order to win a special limited edition medal. You’ll also get a cool photo out of it as well!

And if you were interested in getting some free pics done you could  head to Pixe social (stand 1821 right behind the  information desk) or CeX (stand 2411) where you can get a cool photo taken and it’ll be posted to their social media and emailed/tweeted to you.

Head here for your guides and behind for some photos!
