Anton Yelchin in talks to star in Fright Night Remake

I always have a soft spot for Fright Night, as it was one of my fave flicks of the 80’s, and had that great mix and humour and scares. All that film taught me is that playing peeping tom on your neighbour is always going to end badly.

I’m not sure it needs to be remade but then I think that about a lot of films so there you go.  Like all things, I guess, with the right people attached and the right script this could work.

It seems that casting has now started to get underway as Anton Yelchin of Star Trek and  Terminator Salvation fame is rumored to be talks to play the lead, Charlie Brewster.

For those of your who don’t know the story it centres around Charlie discovering that his neighbour, Jerry Dandridge is a vampire.

I thought Anton’s has been great in his films so far so I’d like to see him get this role. However, for me, the most important casting will be that of Peter Vincent, Vampire Hunter(well not so much really) as played brilliantly byRoddy McDowall.

Please can we not have either Will Ferrell or Jim Carrey in this role…thank you Mr Casting Person.
