‘Buried Alive’ – A New Web Series Comes to SYFY UK

So Syfy UK it seems now has it’s own web series which a lauched last week. I had no idea this was coming out but the premise sounds interesting and at ten minutes per episode it’s not going to break into my viewing habits to take a look at the show.

London, 24 May, 2010: Universal Networks International today announces the acquisition of a web series for its popular entertainment destination Syfy.co.uk. The website will stream the UK online premiere of Buried Alive, a 15 x 10 minute for-web drama, distributed by Sony Pictures Television.

The suspense-filled series is set to unfold over a four week period, with new episodes posted every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 13:00 GMT.  Followers will witness a race-against-time as brother and sister Travis (Jeff Blum) and Melanie (Brit Morgan) struggle to uncover the hidden location of five abducted students, buried alive with rapidly depleting air and no-one to hear their screams.

The series will be the UK’s first introduction to lead star Brit Morgan, who is set to become a familiar fixture after winning the role of ‘Debbie Pelt’ in the highly anticipated third season of True Blood.  HerBuried Alive co-stars include: Jeff Blum, Bram Hoover, Nikki McKenzie, Greyson Chadwick, Natalie Wachen, JR May, Augusto Aguilar and John Charles Meyer. The series is executive produced by John Norris & Paul Etheredge, who also served as Director.

The site has recently featured a one week catch up for the first episodes of hit shows V and Human Target, allowing visitors to sample the fantastic content available on Syfy in the UK.  As part of the rebrand from SCI FI to Syfy, the site has completely revamped its own look and feel to further engage the community through discussion and interactive features.  The improved site includes a cutting edge video player; 20 UK exclusive casual games; a network of 60 UK based bloggers; and exclusive video previews of Syfy’s biggest shows.
