TV REVIEW: Castle – Season 6, Episode 9 ‘Disciple’

This was a genuinely creepy episode of Castle, the first time in a long time that I have felt unnerved by the show.  The reason?  The murder victims in this episode all looked like our favourite characters.

First up, Lanie’s doppelganger turned up dead quickly followed by other members of the team.  Gone was the usual light touch that we expect from the show and in it’s place was something much darker.  We forget sometimes in the haze of our new found love for ‘Caskett’ and the tight group of friends and family they have that they live in New York, home to some of the more mentally unhinged killers in the world!

While trying to figure out who is carrying out these vicious murders and why they are specifically targeting people in Castle’s social circle, we come across someone from the past.  I won’t spoil it by telling you who but suffice to say, it’s someone that we had thought we had seen the last of.

A great episode and one that reminds us that while we tune in to see the characters we love, it’s the murders that keep us on the edge of our seats.

  1. That final scene, with the music played over it is probably one of the creepiest things I’ve seen in a while. Definitely ruined the song for me now.
