Cap and Thor to be converted to 3D

CRAP!! what is the obsession with converting movies to 3D.

It worked well in Avatar only because that movie was shot in 3D, Thor and Cap we’re shot in 2D and just like Clash of the Titans they are going to be converted to 3D.

Will you pay the extra £££ to see these movies in 3D or will you just watch the 2D versions

We came to feel that in our case 3-D could be a very good friend of story and character for a different kind of experience, at first, it was maths and physics and way over my head.

It’s another draft of the story that can reveal itself in a different way, I had a healthy degree of skepticism up front … I’ve become somebody extremely excited about working with possibilities of doing it this way.

There is a lot more about this at the Source article here on LA Times.

I’m sick of this. I’ve yet to see a decent 3D film (Avatar looked pretty admittedly but was one boring, predictable story) and it seems to me it’s purely a way for the industry to make more money. It doesn’t enhance the film in any way, and most of the time you’re expecting something to “pop” out at you because you’ve got the glasses on, rather than focusing on the story. As for being charged extra and cinemas scheduling the 2D versions at such times that you have to go and see it in 3D – don’t get me started!

I’ll be watching in good old fashioned 2D thanks very much.
